Newton, BS, NREMT-P 20 Years Experience - Public Safety, Paramedic of the Year Recipient, Firefighter of the Year Award Recipient, Educator of the Year Award Recipient Sean currently works as a Paramedic and Fire Captain for a large urban municipal fire department located in central Arizona. He has experience as a Flight Paramedic and Technical Rescue Technician. He has been involved in medical education since 1990, holding various positions ranging in responsibility from Skills Instructor, Lead Instructor, Program Manager and he served as the first Paramedic Program Director of the fire service based East Valley Coalition Paramedic Training Programs. Sean has taught in the Maricopa Community College system since 1992. In 2004, his expertise was instrumental in expanding the scope of practice to allow Arizona Certified Paramedics to perform RSI. He began his career as a Firefighter and Paramedic, then followed his lifelong dream to medical school. Dr. Smith owns a successful private practice in Mesa and Queen Creek, Arizona and is the Administrative Medical Director for the Apache Junction, Gilbert, and Mesa Fire Departments.
